Photos from a by-gone era, retro ceiling fans and patterned tiles exude a nostalgic mood. This restaurant, run by a friendly Italian couple (who also own the hotel), has been serving classics from their home country for more than a decade. You can find most Italian classics on the menu, such as antipasto, pizzas, pastas and mains. Start with bruschetta tradizionale for a refreshing and appetising opener. Save some room for their homemade sweets.

Story Behind Il Bácaro: It is a typical Venetian hostaria or tavern, usually located in the back streets of Venice where friends meet up to enjoy a glass of wine while sharing “cicchetti” (small plates of food) and simple Italian dishes.
