A bit Fijian, a bit Cantonese and a whole lot Australian, for two nights Brisbane’s chef of the moment Louis Tikaram will be bringing his moreish Modern Chinese comfort food to the PJ neighbourhood favourite, Fifty Tales.

Louis thundered onto the world culinary radar when in 2014, while working at Sydney’s Longrain, the Good Food Guide awarded him Young Chef of the Year. From there it was off to Los Angeles as head chef at E.P. & L.P. and a bunch of TV appearances, including a lead on an EMMY Award-winning episode of The Migrant Kitchen, which showcased Louis and his
unique food culture.

Returning home, Louis took the helm of Stanley, a modern Cantonese restaurant at the Howard Smith Wharves on the Brisbane River. Here he has developed a following paying homage to his Chinese heritage by showcasing the best Queensland produce through classic Cantonese dishes infused with his signature global-outlook flair. He also co-hosted Channel Ten’s Farm to Fork, appeared on Masterchef Australia and was recently the food curator for the Caper Food and Arts Festival in Byron Bay.

For Louis’s upcoming dinners at Fifty Tales, gather the family and friends for a casual night of feasting on delicious dishes fusing Cantonese elements with his distinct Antipodean-global flair. This dinner will be pork free.
